The supporters of Sporting Club Kanguru booed when FC NITRA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matúš Breška didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Matej Bezák had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, FC NITRA's Ľubomír Karaš got control of the ball when Vladimír Cigáň tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ján Čambora in the 33rd minute of play forced Sporting Club Kanguru's goalkeeper Tomáš Kyšidaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Bohuslav Hrubý managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC NITRA's supporters rose to their feet, but Bohuslav Hrubý was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomáš Kyšidaj breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matej Bezák recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gabriel Juhás's late challenge caught a FC NITRA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Juhás helped the player get up and apologised. If Ján Čambora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Ľubomír Karaš made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matej Bezák in the 56th minute of play. After 56 played minutes FC NITRA got a freekick which was hit by Jozef Friedmann. Vladimír Cigáň received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ľubomír Karaš tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matej Bezák received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ján Čambora in the 69th minute of play forced Sporting Club Kanguru's goalkeeper Tomáš Kyšidaj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute, Vladimír Cigáň left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting Club Kanguru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ľubomír Karaš came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Club Kanguru's Matej Bezák. But to his dismay, Matej Bezák quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Vladimír Cigáň struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Ľubomír Karaš didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting Club Kanguru. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matej Bezák in the 84th minute of play forced FC NITRA's goalkeeper Ľubomír Karaš to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ján Čambora blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomáš Kyšidaj having to make a save. Ján Čambora might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tomáš Kyšidaj. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ján Čambora ran back to his position shaking his head. Matej Bezák fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ľubomír Karaš having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sporting Club Kanguru fully deserved thier win.
