After some careless play in the Piešťany defense, Tomáš Kanálik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rastislav Vinarčík. The Piešťany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rastislav Vinarčík should have stopped the shot. Rastislav Vinarčík was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomáš Kanálik showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomáš Kanálik got free with Rastislav Vinarčík in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th match minute, Plavnica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michal Cais to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Gustáv Kyjanský made the kick off in the second half. Viktor Vengloš was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Miloš Hudec's late challenge caught a Piešťany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miloš Hudec helped the player get up and apologised. Miloš Hudec kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Plavnica's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
