Marek Eštok didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 4th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Eugen Medveď sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marek Eštok showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugen Medveď in the 12th minute of the match. Dušan Kúdelka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduard Vorobeľ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Antón Kúdelka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hoste FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Antón Kúdelka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marek Eštok breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, ŠK Slovan Bratislava's Pavol Zábojník got a free kick in the 19th minute. Antón Kúdelka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Marek Eštok made a huge save. Marek Eštok showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugen Medveď, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugen Medveď in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marek Eštok saved ŠK Slovan Bratislava from getting behind. If Marek Jurčo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antón Kúdelka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Eštok having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Maros Jánošík hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugen Medveď's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marek Eštok read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eduard Vorobeľ was the one to do the kick off. Antón Kúdelka scored 2-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marek Eštok, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marek Jurčo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Eugen Medveď cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marek Eštok was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eugen Medveď recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eugen Medveď fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Eštok having to interfere. ŠK Slovan Bratislava's Richard Majerník shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 69th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Dušan Kúdelka but with some difficulty. Eduard Vorobeľ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marek Jurčo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Dušan Kúdelka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute of the match, Eduard Vorobeľ tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dušan Kúdelka saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Eduard Vorobeľ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Dušan Kúdelka tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eugen Medveď had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marek Jurčo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ŠK Slovan Bratislava's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
