Jaroslaw Chowaniec recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Davut Tekiner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marek Novobilský in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute Marek Novobilský shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davut Tekiner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavel Dejeu got free with Martin Driensky in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jaroslaw Chowaniec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Driensky having to interfere. Davut Tekiner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ján Demčák, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Douglas Haig booed when Bojnice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomáš Nárožný didn't get a good kick on the ball. Davut Tekiner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Konkoly, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Marek Novobilský fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bojnice's protests and gave Marek Novobilský a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bojnice getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Marek Novobilský hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Pavel Dejeu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ján Demčák might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Davut Tekiner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ján Demčák ran back to his position shaking his head. 33 minutes into the match, Douglas Haig's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Konkoly came free, but Davut Tekiner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 minutes of play, Douglas Haig's Pavel Dejeu made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Driensky was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

52 minutes into the match, Jaroslaw Chowaniec had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Driensky. Bojnice's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaroslaw Chowaniec was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 59 minutes into the game, Douglas Haig's Matúš Horváth nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Martin Driensky made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Pavel Dejeu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Driensky having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bojnice's zone, Jaroslaw Chowaniec stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Driensky came out of the goal and Jaroslaw Chowaniec tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Jacobo Piearres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Pavel Dejeu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pavel Dejeu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaroslaw Chowaniec struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Martin Driensky didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Douglas Haig. After a defensive mix-up in Bojnice's zone, Pavel Dejeu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Driensky came out of the goal and Pavel Dejeu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Douglas Haig's Davut Tekiner got control of the ball when Ján Demčák tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacobo Piearres during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Douglas Haig getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Jacobo Piearres hit a great ball. Jaroslaw Chowaniec scored 4-1 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Martin Driensky, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 94th minute, Pavel Dejeu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Douglas Haig walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
