Spectators: 8418 (Terracing: 6314, Seating: 1936, VIP seats: 168) FC KVP Košice's Matej Hájiček started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivan Gašpar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matej Hájiček in the 5th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Matej Hájiček took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ivan Gašpar to make any attempt to save it. Richard Sekera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miroslav Heršic having to interfere. With a little luck, Babie FC's Ivan Gašpar got control of the ball when Stanislav Mandl tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th match minute, FC KVP Košice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Kliment to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute of the match Daniel Nagy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miroslav Heršic skillfully saved the ball. Filip Ješo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Miroslav Heršic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Richard Sekera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Pavol Ščerbák was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC KVP Košice's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Babie FC the free kick. If Matej Hájiček had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC KVP Košice's Stanislav Mandl managed to work through Babie FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Stanislav Mandl dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Sekera stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FC KVP Košice's Jozef Hospodár got a free kick in the 55th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filip Ješo got free with Miroslav Heršic in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teodor Išták kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 68 minutes, Tomáš Ihnačák mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC KVP Košice and the Babie FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomáš Ihnačák hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute FC KVP Košice were awarded a corner. Pavol Ščerbák went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 89th minute, one of Babie FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Babie FC. Ivan Gašpar had in the 91stth minute some difficulties stopping Pavol Ščerbák's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 91 minutes into the game, FC KVP Košice's Pavol Ščerbák nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Gašpar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Babie FC's Ivan Gašpar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matej Hájiček in the 96th minute of play.
