Ivan Čanecký showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ľubomír Rendľa in the 5th minute of the match. Bartolomej Reštei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavlos Iordanidis in the 8th minute of play. If Pavlos Iordanidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pavlos Iordanidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Bartolomej Reštei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of MFK Ružomberok booed when Bogliarka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Kryl didn't get a good kick on the ball. MFK Ružomberok's Dávid Kuba got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pavlos Iordanidis struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Bartolomej Reštei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MFK Ružomberok. Chucky Norris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Bogliarka's goal looked a bit too open when Chucky Norris came free, but Bartolomej Reštei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MFK Ružomberok were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Bogliarka's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Henrich Šípka took the corner. When Dávid Kuba came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the MFK Ružomberok fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dávid Kuba couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pavlos Iordanidis in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bartolomej Reštei saved Bogliarka from getting behind. 38 minutes into the match, Henrich Šípka notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Bogliarka's Bartolomej Reštei. Bartolomej Reštei was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. MFK Ružomberok's Ivan Čanecký played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ľubomír Rendľa in the 41st minute of play. In the 46th match minute, MFK Ružomberok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinand Revický to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bogliarka's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After some careless play in the Bogliarka defense, Pavlos Iordanidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bartolomej Reštei. The Bogliarka fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bartolomej Reštei should have stopped the shot. In the 59th match minute, Bogliarka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Bachleda to maneuver through the defense. If René Hargaš had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chucky Norris fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bartolomej Reštei having to interfere. MFK Ružomberok's Ivan Čanecký proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save MFK Ružomberok from getting a goal against them. 68 minutes into the game, Dávid Kuba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Bartolomej Reštei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 74th minute of the match MFK Ružomberok got a corner. Bogliarka's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henrich Šípka ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Chucky Norris heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Bartolomej Reštei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chucky Norris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bartolomej Reštei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chucky Norris in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Richard Kaščák hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henrich Šípka struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Bartolomej Reštei didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MFK Ružomberok.
