Michal Erdélsky charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Michal Erdélsky the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, MFK Ružomberok's Michal Erdélsky got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Chucky Norris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pavol Maliniak charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pavol Maliniak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of MFK Ružomberok booed when FC KVP Košice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pavol Maliniak didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Henrich Šípka sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC KVP Košice's Miroslav Heršic didn't even have to move. Pavol Maliniak was shown his second yellow card after 20 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Pavol Maliniak kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Miroslav Heršic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pavlos Iordanidis in the 22nd minute. Miroslav Heršic stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pavlos Iordanidis's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Pavlos Iordanidiss short, quick shot in the 25thth minute got Miroslav Heršic to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Miroslav Heršic was a little too slow when Pavlos Iordanidis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 3-0. When Henrich Šípka came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the MFK Ružomberok fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henrich Šípka couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Pavlos Iordanidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chucky Norris struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Miroslav Heršic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MFK Ružomberok. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pavlos Iordanidis to strike the kick off in the second half. Miroslav Heršic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavlos Iordanidis in the 52nd minute of play. Henrich Šípka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miroslav Heršic having to interfere. If Pavlos Iordanidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinand Revický recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to FC KVP Košice getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Adrian Kliment hit a great ball. Ferdinand Revický sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adrian Kliment kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Miroslav Heršic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chucky Norris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute, Pavlos Iordanidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pavlos Iordanidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miroslav Heršic having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Pavlos Iordanidis made a precise shot to the right of Miroslav Heršic. FC KVP Košice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Jozef Hospodár charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jozef Hospodár the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, FC KVP Košice's Jozef Hospodár got a free kick in the 86th minute. MFK Ružomberok's Chucky Norris got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Henrich Šípka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MFK Ružomberok fully deserved thier win.
