Hlohovec's Matej Vičan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dušan Hossa in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Oliver Tuka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hlohovec's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abranovce the free kick. A collision led to Hlohovec getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Oliver Tuka hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Stanislav Kovach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abranovce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stanislav Kovach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dušan Hossa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dušan Hossa got free with Matej Vičan in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Hlohovec's Viktor Lenko got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Peter Smrtič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the game, Martin Pavlov was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hlohovec's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abranovce the free kick. In the 31st match minute, Hlohovec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Pavlov to maneuver through the defense. After 32 played minutes Stanislav Kovach rounded Hlohovec's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. A collision led to Hlohovec getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stanislav Kovach stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Viktor Karabyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matej Vičan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 56 minutes, Dušan Hossa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abranovce's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dušan Hossa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Stanislav Kovach came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Abranovce fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanislav Kovach couldn't finish the play. After 62 played minutes Hlohovec got a freekick which was hit by Peter Smrtič. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dušan Hossa in the 65th minute of play forced Hlohovec's goalkeeper Matej Vičan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hlohovec's Matej Vičan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dušan Hossa in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Martin Pavlov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the match, Mabusela Thwala notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Hlohovec's Matej Vičan. Matej Vičan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nemanja Matić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Marián Hodža was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 77 minutes had been played. A collision led to Abranovce getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Marián Hodža hit a great ball. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Abranovce's goalkeeper Olivier Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th minute Hlohovec were awarded a corner. Marián Konrád went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Marián Konrád got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Olivier Kahn quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 85 minutes into the match, Dušan Hossa notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Hlohovec's Matej Vičan. Matej Vičan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Abranovce were the better team. Abranovce's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
