Silvester Goliáš charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The coaching staff of FK Púchov protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Andrej Pažický had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of FK Púchov:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ŠK Hájske:s goal. 13 minutes into the match, FK Púchov's goalkeeper Vladimír Šesták had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Lipták. Miroslav Angyal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viktor Pukelník in the 15th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Vladimír Šesták was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to FK Púchov getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Gabriel Špaček hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jozef Silan in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimír Šesták saved FK Púchov from getting behind. Jozef Silan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimír Šesták having to interfere. Gabriel Špaček's late challenge caught a ŠK Hájske's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gabriel Špaček helped the player get up and apologised. If Daniel Lipták had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Marián Kundráčik ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miroslav Angyal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Many of FK Púchov's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. FK Púchov may have spent more time on the ball, but ŠK Hájske were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
