A collision led to SHK Piestany getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Albert Pastorek hit a great ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arif Oğuz Boysel couldn't finish the play. SHK Piestany's Juraj Kaščák played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarne Vloeberghs in the 30th minute of play. Juraj Kaščák took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristián Slávik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by SHK Piestany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Stancho Basarov was slow to take the kick. During this time MIK Focus ŽILINA's players had a chance to rest. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arif Oğuz Boysel to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Paluška recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 56 minutes of play, MIK Focus ŽILINA's Bengt-Arne Glad made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juraj Kaščák was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 60 minutes, Arif Oğuz Boysel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SHK Piestany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arif Oğuz Boysel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jarne Vloeberghs in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juraj Kaščák prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MIK Focus ŽILINA fully deserved thier win.
