Ladislav Vališ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ján Lapač in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to MIK Focus ŽILINA getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Stancho Basarov hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Matúš Hrabovský got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ladislav Vališ made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibor Čapo in the 28th minute of play. MIK Focus ŽILINA's Ladislav Vališ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matúš Hrabovský in the 29th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Stancho Basarov dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Róbert Jurčák, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tibor Čapo to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Jarne Vloeberghs put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Róbert Jurčák. In the 63rdth minute of the game Jarne Vloeberghs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lada FK's Róbert Jurčák was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ben Macrez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Róbert Jurčák tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jarne Vloeberghs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Róbert Jurčák was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. In the 69th minute Ivan Erdődy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Jurčák saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Jarne Vloeberghs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Róbert Jurčák. Lada FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarne Vloeberghs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. MIK Focus ŽILINA made a substitution. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matúš Hrabovský got free with Ladislav Vališ in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jarne Vloeberghs scored 6-1 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Róbert Jurčák, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lada FK's Róbert Jurčák played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarne Vloeberghs in the 89th minute of play.
