Spectators: 6783 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1783, VIP seats: 0) Konstantin Hribovšek's late challenge caught a Vrtojba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Konstantin Hribovšek helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd minute, Konstantin Hribovšek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vahidin Šestić during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Veržej fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 4th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Jurij Cerkvenik, was totally fooled by Vrtojba's Kristjan Svet, who 5 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Herman Majcen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zdenislav Jesenšek in the 9th minute of the match. Hektor Seunig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rian Vučić took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jurij Cerkvenik. Jurij Cerkvenik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Veržej's Tomislav Radoš got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 28 played minutes Vrtojba got a freekick which was hit by Gabrijel Mikuž. After 30 played minutes, Veržej's Oskar Hren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Herman Majcen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Veržej reached it. In the 31st minute, Julijo Omejc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rian Vučić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jurij Cerkvenik having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Veržej was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergij Lapajne to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Veržej's zone, Rian Vučić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jurij Cerkvenik came out of the goal and Rian Vučić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rian Vučić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jurij Cerkvenik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hektor Seunig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zdenislav Jesenšek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zdenislav Jesenšek was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomislav Radoš got free with Herman Majcen in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes into the game, Hajdar Rogelj was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vrtojba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Veržej the free kick. Hajdar Rogelj hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Veržej's Tomislav Radoš got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Veržej's Zdenislav Jesenšek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herman Majcen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Herman Majcen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomislav Radoš in the 65th minute. Tomislav Radoš struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Herman Majcen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Veržej. Rian Vučić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomislav Radoš in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Herman Majcen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Zdenislav Jesenšek kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Herman Majcen. That made the score 2-1 in the 76 minute of play. Rian Vučić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jurij Cerkvenik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hektor Seunig in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jurij Cerkvenik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hektor Seunig in the 93rd minute of play forced Veržej's goalkeeper Jurij Cerkvenik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herman Majcen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zdenislav Jesenšek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Vrtojba had won after a very even match.
