Meta Piškur started the match with the kick off. Meta Piškur who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Milija Božnik when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Moravske Toplice booed when Železniki MNK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miro Vračar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 minutes Železniki MNK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Robert Sršen who took care of the corner kick. In the 16th minute Angelo Rebolj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Jančar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nino Karničar got free with Milija Božnik in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the game, Franc Kumar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moravske Toplice's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Železniki MNK the free kick. The supporters of Železniki MNK booed when Moravske Toplice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franc Kumar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Železniki MNK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nino Karničar to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Angelo Rebolj cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Christian Jančar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Meta Piškur managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milija Božnik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nino Karničar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Milija Božnik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the game, Živko Srebrnič was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 40 played minutes Moravske Toplice got a freekick which was hit by Franc Kumar. Mika Gale charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mika Gale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mika Gale kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. With a little luck, Moravske Toplice's Milija Božnik got control of the ball when Nino Karničar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mika Gale to make the kick off. Nino Karničar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Milija Božnik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 minutes of play Moravske Toplice's Živko Srebrnič was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 60th match minute, Moravske Toplice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Živko Srebrnič to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beno Remškar in the 94th minute of play forced Moravske Toplice's goalkeeper Milija Božnik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nino Karničar in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Milija Božnik saved Moravske Toplice from getting behind. Milija Božnik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Meta Piškur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Moravske Toplice players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
