With a little luck, Ivančna Gorica ND's Miško Flakus got control of the ball when Karim Gjerkeš tried to sneak it across the goal line. Karim Gjerkeš received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Miško Flakus came out and tried to block the shot, but Karim Gjerkeš slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Šampion Celje's Karim Gjerkeš got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Šampion Celje's Ožbolt Smodiš got a free kick in the 8th minute. Karim Gjerkeš received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Miško Flakus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mika Žitnik in the 13th minute of play forced Ivančna Gorica ND's goalkeeper Miško Flakus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ivančna Gorica ND getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Demeter Guberac hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Šampion Celje's Milivoj Korez got a free kick in the 20th minute. After 21 played minutes, Ivančna Gorica ND's Janne Švegl shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zahir Markovič came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ivančna Gorica ND reached it. Karim Gjerkeš's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Miško Flakus read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. After 26th play minutes Mika Žitnik shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Miško Flakus and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Mika Žitnik's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miško Flakus was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 30th match minute, Ivančna Gorica ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georgij Terdič to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Ivančna Gorica ND's goalkeeper Miško Flakus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karim Gjerkeš. With an all-out effort, Šampion Celje's Miško Flakus threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mika Žitnik, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mika Žitnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mika Žitnik's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Miško Flakus skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 43rdth minute of the game Mika Žitnik who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ivančna Gorica ND's Miško Flakus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jasim Ribać was the one to do the kick off. Mika Žitnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jasim Ribać did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Zahir Markovič 56 minutes into the match. Šampion Celje's Emilijan Bavdek was substituted for Klaudio Kolarič. Valentin Hostar hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Šampion Celje's Zahir Markovič proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Šampion Celje from getting a goal against them. Jasim Ribać recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jasim Ribać during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Jasim Ribać hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Šampion Celje booed when Ivančna Gorica ND was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demeter Guberac didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miško Flakus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Gjerkeš in the 75th minute of the match. Karim Gjerkeš sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Servacij Trupej could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Zahir Markovič made a huge save. Mika Žitnik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Miško Flakus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miško Flakus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karim Gjerkeš in the 85th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ivančna Gorica ND's zone, Mika Žitnik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miško Flakus came out of the goal and Mika Žitnik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karim Gjerkeš received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Miško Flakus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mika Žitnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
