An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnel Šulc in the 10th minute of play forced NK Mafija's goalkeeper Witold Wietrzychowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hakim Auguštin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Kokotović having to interfere. After some careless play in the NK Mafija defense, Arnel Šulc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Witold Wietrzychowski. The NK Mafija fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Witold Wietrzychowski should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celesto Mrkonja in the 24th minute of play forced NK Mafija's goalkeeper Witold Wietrzychowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. NK Mafija's Vladan Levar got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Kokotović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladan Levar, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Vlatko Bavčar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Frank Kokotović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Kokotović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Palčar in the 34th minute of play. Bojan Bogdanović received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Frank Kokotović came out and tried to block the shot, but Bojan Bogdanović slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 35th minute. In the 39th match minute, Sevnica MNK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lambert Hribar to maneuver through the defense. Witold Wietrzychowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vladan Levar made a kick off. Armando Palčar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Frank Kokotović came out of the goal and Matt Busby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vladan Levar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Frank Kokotović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leó Petty kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Vladan Levar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Kokotović was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Armando Palčar charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armando Palčar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sevnica MNK booed when NK Mafija was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Palčar didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the NK Mafija players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
