Spectators: 6807 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1807, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vitodrag Velepec started the match with the kick off. When Egon Božičnik came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Dobrna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egon Božičnik couldn't finish the play. Milanko Spahič took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nihad Verovšek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 14th minute, Amon Petre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Sveti Jurij defense, Egon Božičnik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delzi Francelj. The Sveti Jurij fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delzi Francelj should have stopped the shot. After 20 played minutes Dobrna got a freekick which was hit by Egon Babšek. Milanko Spahič made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joško Ambrož in the 22nd minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Dobrna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amon Petre to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the game, Gilberto Hiti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sveti Jurij's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dobrna the free kick. The supporters of Dobrna booed when Sveti Jurij was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Hiti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nihad Verovšek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 31st minute, Nelson Drobež hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the game, Sveti Jurij's Nihad Verovšek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Milanko Spahič made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Nihad Verovšek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Sveti Jurij's goalkeeper Delzi Francelj, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joško Ambrož stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 1-2 became the score in the 51st minute when Joško Ambrož elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Borut Kokalović during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 57th match minute, Sveti Jurij was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Borut Kokalović to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Nihad Verovšek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sveti Jurij's supporters rose to their feet, but Nihad Verovšek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Milanko Spahič breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nihad Verovšek struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Milanko Spahič didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sveti Jurij. Delzi Francelj showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitodrag Velepec, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 75th minute, Hotimir Kuzele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Egon Božičnik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vitodrag Velepec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delzi Francelj having to interfere. Vitodrag Velepec's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Delzi Francelj read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Delzi Francelj came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Dobrna's Vitodrag Velepec. But to his dismay, Vitodrag Velepec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Egon Božičnik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delzi Francelj having to interfere.
