Teofil Žuža showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Kunstič, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. With a little luck, Šmartno ob Paki NK's Brendon Teraž got control of the ball when Mladen Koren tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Mladen Koren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kozina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mladen Koren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brendon Teraž made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Mladen Koren sent off a good shot on target. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Kunstič to strike the kick off in the second half. Kozina's Teofil Žuža played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Kunstič in the 53rd minute of play. One of Kozina:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Šmartno ob Paki NK:s goal. When the match clock showed 67 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Bor Jere sped through Šmartno ob Paki NK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Brendon Teraž. Teofil Žuža made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Kunstič in the 70th minute of play. Šmartno ob Paki NK's Guerino Živič pulled a muscle in his back after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Mato Kukovec fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kozina's protests and gave Mato Kukovec a yellow card for diving instead. Mato Kukovec hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, Kozina's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniele Zemljič fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Bor Jere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kozina's supporters rose to their feet, but Bor Jere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brendon Teraž breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kozina fans cheered their team off the field, for while Šmartno ob Paki NK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
