Ernad Jošovc's late challenge caught a Novo mesto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernad Jošovc helped the player get up and apologised. 14 minutes into the game, Novo mesto's Just Planovšek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fatmir Ramovš made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 18th minute Just Planovšek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fatmir Ramovš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jezersko NK's Fatmir Ramovš played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Just Planovšek in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Milanko Ahčin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Novo mesto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Nemanja Živković fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Milovan Ivič having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After some careless play in the Novo mesto defense, Advan Peternelj kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Milovan Ivič.
