Spectators: 6772 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1772, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Andrej Primožič started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Andrej Primožič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeid Krek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jože Ušaj scored 1-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zeid Krek, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Žalec MNK's Lorenco Valjavec got control of the ball when Aleksa Širovnik tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, one of Žalec MNK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Žalec MNK. When Tit Gorjup came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Polje fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tit Gorjup couldn't finish the play. Tit Gorjup might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lorenco Valjavec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tit Gorjup ran back to his position shaking his head. Aleksa Širovnik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Lorenco Valjavec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Tit Gorjup made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Polje booed when Žalec MNK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrej Primožič didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tit Gorjup blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lorenco Valjavec having to make a save. Lorenco Valjavec came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Polje's Aleksa Širovnik. But to his dismay, Aleksa Širovnik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Lorenzo Šega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenco Valjavec having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Žalec MNK's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksa Širovnik came free, but Lorenco Valjavec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aleksa Širovnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Žalec MNK's Štefko Goršič got a free kick in the 71st minute. 74 minutes into the match, Polje's Tit Gorjup sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lorenco Valjavec narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zeid Krek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jože Ušaj went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Tit Gorjup put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Lorenco Valjavec. Polje's Zeid Krek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Polje from getting a goal against them. 87 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Šega was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Polje's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Žalec MNK the free kick. Lorenzo Šega kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Polje walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
