Maribor MNK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergej Zdešar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of Maribor MNK booed when Greenhorns was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Val Gostojić didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Feliks Čelik stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Greenhorns's Sergej Zdešar got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 62 minutes of play, Greenhorns's Medard Štefančič made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Blaž Doles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Feliks Čelik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maribor MNK's goalkeeper Blaž Doles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 91st minute, Medard Štefančič made a precise shot to the right of Blaž Doles. Maribor MNK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1.
