The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Avgust Kramžar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maxi Žuraj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sonny Deberšek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Avgust Kramžar in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Gnezda saved Dobrepolje from getting behind. Florijan Meljnjak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Suad Praznik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florijan Meljnjak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Suad Praznik having to make a save. With a little luck, Šoštanj ND's Suad Praznik got control of the ball when Zvone Gogala tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avgust Kramžar in the 30th minute of play forced Dobrepolje's goalkeeper Kevin Gnezda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Dobrepolje's Isen Huš got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 43rd minute of the match Šoštanj ND got a corner. Dobrepolje's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ignac Koletič ran over to the corner to take the kick. Šoštanj ND's Ignac Koletič was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kevin Gnezda in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 48th minute, Maxi Žuraj got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Avgust Kramžar made the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, Dobrepolje's goal looked a bit too open when Avgust Kramžar came free, but Kevin Gnezda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Zvone Gogala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dobrepolje's supporters rose to their feet, but Zvone Gogala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Suad Praznik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Šoštanj ND's Suad Praznik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zvone Gogala in the 74th minute of play. Florijan Meljnjak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maxi Žuraj had several of the Dobrepolje's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 83 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Kevin Gnezda as he didn't even see the shot coming. 87 minutes into the match, Šoštanj ND's goal looked a bit too open when Zvone Gogala came free, but Suad Praznik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Maxi Žuraj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Šoštanj ND's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
