After a rather tough play, Ormož MNK's Apolonije Škrinjar got a free kick in the 9th minute. Alojzij Gracar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabit Kržin in the 11th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Sabit Kržin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ormož MNK booed when Ascendant was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saško Završnik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sabit Kržin in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alojzij Gracar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miko Klockl could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Krištof Kuder made a huge save. Miko Klockl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alojzij Gracar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kras Vrečar in the 48th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kras Vrečar to strike the kick off in the second half. Krištof Kuder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miko Klockl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, one of Ormož MNK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Abdulaziz Mokotar's late challenge caught a Ormož MNK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdulaziz Mokotar helped the player get up and apologised. Abdulaziz Mokotar kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ascendant! The goalkeeper, Alojzij Gracar, was totally fooled by Ormož MNK's Narciz Šivak, who 64 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Goce Alič came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ascendant fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Goce Alič couldn't finish the play. Sabit Kržin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ascendant defense, Karim Murg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alojzij Gracar. The Ascendant fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alojzij Gracar should have stopped the shot. Goce Alič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Krištof Kuder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ascendant's zone, Sabit Kržin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alojzij Gracar came out of the goal and Sabit Kržin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ormož MNK's Krištof Kuder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Goce Alič in the 91st minute of play. Sabit Kržin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Alojzij Gracar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ormož MNK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
