The referee showed Timotej Kofler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Vipava booed when Lašče was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timotej Kofler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mato Lož recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the match, Lašče's goal looked a bit too open when Asmir Drobež came free, but Sava Lisjak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vipava's Ljuban Jančar shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 25th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sava Lisjak but with some difficulty. Ersan Murn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gerhard Pavšek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Vipava's zone, Gerhard Pavšek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Radko Bremše came out of the goal and Gerhard Pavšek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emanuel Ušaj's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Radko Bremše read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Mitar Alauf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gerhard Pavšek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute.
