After 3 minutes, Šefko Kregar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Novo mesto and the Lendava ND players grew even worse after the yellow card. 15 minutes into the game, Thomas Andolšek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Novo mesto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lendava ND the free kick. Thomas Andolšek kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Denis Demetrović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Metod Zlatar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas Andolšek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleš Sakelšek having to interfere. Sebastian Kukovec kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 32 played minutes Novo mesto got a freekick which was hit by Baldomir Oman. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denis Demetrović in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Metod Zlatar saved Novo mesto from getting behind. Staš Fleten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Staš Fleten might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aleš Sakelšek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Staš Fleten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 41st match minute, Lendava ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Kukovec to maneuver through the defense. Aleš Sakelšek made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Staš Fleten sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Andolšek in the 53rd minute of play forced Lendava ND's goalkeeper Aleš Sakelšek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Denis Demetrović managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lendava ND's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Demetrović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Metod Zlatar made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Denis Demetrović sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Thomas Andolšek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Novo mesto's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Andolšek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 92nd minute Lendava ND were awarded a corner. Petrit Dermastja went to the cornerflag to take it. Aleks Gomboc made a great header on Lendava ND's corner, it was just that Novo mesto's Metod Zlatar managed to reach the ball for a save. Metod Zlatar came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lendava ND's Denis Demetrović. But to his dismay, Denis Demetrović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The Novo mesto supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lendava ND's performance. The match ended with a win for Lendava ND.
