With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vasilije Drevenšek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dragoslav Bilić's late challenge caught a Dol pri Ljubljani's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dragoslav Bilić helped the player get up and apologised. In the 39th minute, Dragoslav Bilić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Smail Camlek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dol pri Ljubljani's supporters rose to their feet, but Smail Camlek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vid Štrajhar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Juš Leban got free with Vid Štrajhar in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Smail Camlek came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Dol pri Ljubljani fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Smail Camlek couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Liberat Valant's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vasilije Drevenšek was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Dol pri Ljubljani's Juš Leban got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute Liberat Valant shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasilije Drevenšek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vasilije Drevenšek came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Koper's Dragoslav Bilić. But to his dismay, Dragoslav Bilić quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 74th match minute, Dol pri Ljubljani was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miloš Peserl to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Dragoslav Bilić cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Vasilije Drevenšek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st minute, Smail Camlek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anžej Zavrl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasilije Drevenšek having to interfere. Dragoslav Bilić's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vasilije Drevenšek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Francelj Kruh's late challenge caught a Koper's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francelj Kruh helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dol pri Ljubljani getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Francelj Kruh hit a great ball. In the 96thth minute of the game Liberat Valant who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dol pri Ljubljani's Vasilije Drevenšek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Koper were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Dol pri Ljubljani for a fine match.
