In the 3rd minute Šefko Rihtar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Črt Bajde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tit Plazl got free with Murat Kokalj in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Hoče-Slivnica getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Ožbe Lukman hit a great ball. Medard Trnovšek charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Medard Trnovšek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 17 played minutes Hoče-Slivnica got a freekick which was hit by Medard Trnovšek. After having played for 23 minutes, Advan Karajica managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trbovlje FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Advan Karajica was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Advan Karajica in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murat Kokalj saved Hoče-Slivnica from getting behind. Murat Kokalj stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Irenej Lenarčič's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Vladislav Orosel struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Črt Bajde didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hoče-Slivnica. After 40 minutes of play, Hoče-Slivnica's Lavrenc Rančigaj made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Črt Bajde was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Hoče-Slivnica's Murat Kokalj got control of the ball when Tit Plazl tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Advan Karajica stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Etien Kosanović's late challenge caught a Hoče-Slivnica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
