The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vahidin Prosenjak during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Ajdovščina ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vahidin Prosenjak to maneuver through the defense. Etien Žitnik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uroš Jež in the 5th minute of the match. Vanja Lampreht struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Davor Gros kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Uroš Jež sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 played minutes Ajdovščina ND got a freekick which was hit by Đerat Mahkota. Uroš Jež received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Etien Žitnik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Etien Žitnik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uroš Jež in the 18th minute of play. Kras Širovnik hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Gabriel Grbac might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Egidij Golavšek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Grbac ran back to his position shaking his head. 31 minutes into the match, Ajdovščina ND's Hinko Japelj sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egidij Golavšek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Hinko Japelj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egidij Golavšek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gabriel Grbac's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Egidij Golavšek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Tomo Dobravc charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomo Dobravc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hinko Japelj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egidij Golavšek having to interfere. Uroš Jež recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Gabriel Grbac fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egidij Golavšek having to interfere. In the 54th match minute, Ribnica MNK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomo Dobravc to maneuver through the defense. Egidij Golavšek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hinko Japelj in the 57th minute of play. Hinko Japelj received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Izet Foltin charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Izet Foltin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ribnica MNK getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Izet Foltin hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the match, Roko Zaletelj sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Egidij Golavšek threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Roko Zaletelj this time. Egidij Golavšek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hinko Japelj in the 72nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Ajdovščina ND defense, Uroš Jež kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Etien Žitnik. The Ajdovščina ND fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Etien Žitnik should have stopped the shot. Đerat Mahkota's late challenge caught a Ribnica MNK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Đerat Mahkota helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Uroš Jež in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Etien Žitnik saved Ajdovščina ND from getting behind. Hinko Japelj received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Egidij Golavšek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hinko Japelj in the 93rd minute of play forced Ribnica MNK's goalkeeper Egidij Golavšek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ribnica MNK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ajdovščina ND had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
