With his leg Dragan Matko managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Izola's Rene Scholten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nemanja Žagar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Muho Bertalanič went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Vince Ravnjak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dragan Matko having to interfere. Rene Scholten in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dragan Matko, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Izola getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Kristian Gregorin hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Scholten in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Makole's goalkeeper Dragan Matko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rene Scholten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Kajetan Pristalič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragan Matko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dragan Matko made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Rene Scholten sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 44 minutes, Franček Bizjan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Izola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franček Bizjan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Rene Scholten recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dragan Matko. Rene Scholten showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rene Scholten to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rene Scholten in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dragan Matko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute Rene Scholten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dragan Matko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vince Ravnjak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Dragan Matko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Izola booed when FC Makole was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rade Ribič didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Rene Scholten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Izola's supporters rose to their feet, but Rene Scholten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dragan Matko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nemanja Žagar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Muho Bertalanič in the 74th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rene Scholten in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dragan Matko saved FC Makole from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Rene Scholten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dragan Matko was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. If Franček Bizjan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rene Scholten struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Dragan Matko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Izola. If Rene Scholten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the game, Izola's Ilija Iglič nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dragan Matko made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. After 89 minutes, Rene Scholten made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Makole's Dragan Matko tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rene Scholten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Izola players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
