After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Davorin Kruljac managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alfonz Lampreht kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Silvo Kaker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gabrovka ND's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvo Kaker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Gabrovka ND getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Silvo Kaker hit a great ball. Silvo Kaker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boston University's Marjan Čebulj proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Boston University from getting a goal against them. In the 28th minute, Alfonz Lampreht got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Silvo Kaker struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Marjan Čebulj didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gabrovka ND.

The wind increased when Alfonz Lampreht made the kick off in the second half. Vojo Derča sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Silvo Kaker's late challenge caught a Boston University's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvo Kaker helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Gabrovka ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darko Ivnik to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Vojo Derča could shoot a difficult shot in the 66th minute, which Mirko Centa however easily saved by the left post. If Alfonz Lampreht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vojo Derča succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 77th playminute. Alfonz Lampreht struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Marjan Čebulj didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gabrovka ND. Mirko Centa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davorin Kruljac in the 84th minute of play. Silvo Kaker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mirko Centa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celestin Stamejčič in the 98th minute of the match. Chants of Boston University echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Gabrovka ND had held the ball for most of the match.
