Darko Štefančič hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute NK Brinje were awarded a corner. Franz Judnič went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 7th minute Tian Kmetec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lari Junuzović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 9 minutes into the game, Nino Jotanović cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lari Junuzović was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lari Junuzović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arne Šubelj, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Šubelj in the 20th minute of play forced NK Brinje's goalkeeper Lari Junuzović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lari Junuzović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tian Kmetec, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the game, Michael Narobe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Brinje's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NK Dovže the free kick. In the 24th minute, Michael Narobe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lari Junuzović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Šubelj in the 27th minute of play. Mauricij Lenard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyan Franko having to interfere. NK Dovže's Boyan Franko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save NK Dovže from getting a goal against them. Nino Jotanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lari Junuzović having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, NK Brinje's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Šubelj came free, but Lari Junuzović reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Nino Jotanović ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lari Junuzović was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Lari Junuzović showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tian Kmetec, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Lari Junuzović came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by NK Dovže's Tian Kmetec. But to his dismay, Tian Kmetec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rosando Cener stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Rosando Cener came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the NK Brinje fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rosando Cener couldn't finish the play. In the 56th match minute, NK Dovže was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gianni Popovič to maneuver through the defense. Boyan Franko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rosando Cener's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the NK Brinje defense, Nino Jotanović kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lari Junuzović. The NK Brinje fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lari Junuzović should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nino Jotanović got free with Lari Junuzović in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. NK Dovže's Boyan Franko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juraj Lampensberger in the 73rd minute of play. Rosando Cener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute Arne Šubelj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lari Junuzović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Rosando Cener's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boyan Franko was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in NK Dovže's zone, Rosando Cener stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyan Franko came out of the goal and Rosando Cener tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The NK Brinje fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. NK Dovže were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
