Alaga Ožura came out of the goal and Nino Jotanović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute, Zdravko Verderber left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newton Heath L&YR F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Zdravko Verderber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyan Franko having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Nino Jotanović managed to get in a good position for a shot. NK Dovže's supporters rose to their feet, but Nino Jotanović was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alaga Ožura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boyan Franko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zdravko Verderber, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Nino Jotanović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Alaga Ožura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Tian Kmetec managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NK Dovže's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tian Kmetec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Newton Heath L&YR F.C were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nino Jotanović in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alaga Ožura saved Newton Heath L&YR F.C from getting behind. 59 minutes into the game, Matteo Starec was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newton Heath L&YR F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NK Dovže the free kick. A collision led to Newton Heath L&YR F.C getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Matteo Starec hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nino Jotanović in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alaga Ožura prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tian Kmetec struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Alaga Ožura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NK Dovže. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Bem Bahč managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Heath L&YR F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Bem Bahč was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
