The supporters of Celje Crowns booed when NK Dovže was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arne Šubelj didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Daš Bobnar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nino Jotanović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Nino Jotanović came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the NK Dovže fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nino Jotanović couldn't finish the play. Džon Dobravc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tian Kmetec in the 31st minute of the match. Celje Crowns's Džon Dobravc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tian Kmetec in the 39th minute of play. After the first half NK Dovže were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd minute, Daš Bobnar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot by Theodor Puhar from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Džon Dobravc's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 70 minutes into the match, NK Dovže's goal looked a bit too open when Alfons Grm came free, but Boyan Franko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 83 in the game by Nino Jotanović from a close distance when the talented Džon Dobravc managed to make a qualified save. Celje Crowns's players were relieved. The audience was convinced that Tian Kmetec's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Džon Dobravc was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Gojmir Kosednar charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. NK Dovže's Nino Jotanović got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Davor Hafner sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Džon Dobravc threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Davor Hafner this time.
