Konrad Šumljak helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in NK Brežice fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Dobje. Etien Mihor stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Onur Azim. 0-1. The supporters of NK Brežice booed when Dobje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franek Bratina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Slemenjak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Senad Kalamar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NK Brežice's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dobje the free kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zlato Zagode stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to NK Brežice getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Bem Guček hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Zlato Zagode managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dobje's supporters rose to their feet, but Zlato Zagode was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Onur Azim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mirko Erjavec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Slemenjak having to interfere. Onur Azim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlato Zagode in the 65th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Senad Kalamar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Alberto Slemenjak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 72 minutes into the match, NK Brežice's goal looked a bit too open when Zlato Zagode came free, but Onur Azim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Dobje's Dragoljub Kunstič got a free kick in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirko Erjavec in the 77th minute of play forced Dobje's goalkeeper Alberto Slemenjak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Slemenjak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lun Klenovšek in the 79th minute of play. Alberto Slemenjak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mirko Erjavec, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 90th minute, Dragoljub Kunstič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 91 minutes into the match, NK Brežice's Konrad Šumljak broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dobje's Alberto Slemenjak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Senad Kalamar in the 93rd minute of play. The Dobje players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented NK Brežice from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
