Zekirja Kunstelj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murat Kalin in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Theodor Trobina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amin Nedižavec kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Mengeš's Radimir Zgonec got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Servacij Knežević's late challenge caught a Slovenj Gradec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Servacij Knežević helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mengeš getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Servacij Knežević hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Slovenj Gradec's Johan Menard tried to score from far away in the 18th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 19 minutes into the match, Radimir Zgonec had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zekirja Kunstelj. Slovenj Gradec's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Radimir Zgonec was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 23 played minutes, Mengeš's Kostja Zavadlav shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zekirja Kunstelj came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mengeš reached it. After 25 minutes of play, Mengeš's Radimir Zgonec made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zekirja Kunstelj was left in no man's land by his defense there! Radivoje Sivec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rade Zmrzlak in the 28th minute of the match. Aleksa Kikel hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Zekirja Kunstelj took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radimir Zgonec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Theodor Trobina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Radivoje Sivec. Mengeš's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Theodor Trobina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Radivoje Sivec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rade Zmrzlak in the 38th minute of the match. Murat Kalin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Radimir Zgonec recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Slovenj Gradec getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Johan Menard hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Murat Kalin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Mengeš getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Servacij Knežević hit a great ball. Radimir Zgonec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zekirja Kunstelj having to interfere. When Radimir Zgonec came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Mengeš fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radimir Zgonec couldn't finish the play. After 63 played minutes Slovenj Gradec got a freekick which was hit by Adi Seršen. Radimir Zgonec struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Zekirja Kunstelj didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mengeš. In the 74th match minute, Mengeš was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egi Ajdič to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute Theodor Trobina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radivoje Sivec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rade Zmrzlak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radivoje Sivec having to interfere. A collision led to Mengeš getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Mersudin Teraž hit a great ball. Radimir Zgonec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zekirja Kunstelj having to interfere. Slovenj Gradec's Theodor Trobina got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rade Zmrzlak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Radivoje Sivec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Mengeš could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Slovenj Gradec throughout the match.
