Vladko Mlinarič made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Ive Krupenko sent off a good shot on target. Ive Krupenko recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. NK Laško Pivovar's Vladko Mlinarič proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save NK Laško Pivovar from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Valentino Hostnik managed to get in a good position for a shot. NK Laško Pivovar's supporters rose to their feet, but Valentino Hostnik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hektor Venek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arpad Brumen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hektor Venek having to interfere. Ive Krupenko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Vladko Mlinarič made a huge save. After 35 minutes, Desto Hvastija mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NK Laško Pivovar and the New Greenhorns players grew even worse after the yellow card. 38 minutes into the match, New Greenhorns's goal looked a bit too open when Arpad Brumen came free, but Hektor Venek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lambert Ponikvar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hektor Venek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arpad Brumen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

57 minutes into the match, Valentino Hostnik had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hektor Venek. New Greenhorns's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valentino Hostnik was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to New Greenhorns getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Erik Šuster hit a great ball. The supporters of New Greenhorns booed when NK Laško Pivovar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Goražd Kureš didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ive Krupenko might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vladko Mlinarič. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ive Krupenko ran back to his position shaking his head. Vladko Mlinarič showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ive Krupenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. 81 minutes into the game, Nelfi Lenard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Laško Pivovar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Greenhorns the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in NK Laško Pivovar fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! Boban Cepec shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. NK Laško Pivovar's Desto Hvastija got his second yellow card of the match in the 83rd minute.
