The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Omar Požeg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. The tension between the Cerkno MNK and the Real Sostro CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 14th minute, Avgust Krmelj hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saško Udrih fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ardenko Valenčič having to interfere. Ardenko Valenčič made an important save on a dangerous shot by Avgust Krmelj in the 26th minute. With 28 minutes on the clock, Rajnhold Kamšak commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. When the match had been going on for 29 minutes, Cerkno MNK's Saško Udrih got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Ardenko Valenčič. Cerkno MNK's Omar Požeg got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ardenko Valenčič came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerkno MNK's Saško Udrih. But to his dismay, Saško Udrih quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Ardenko Valenčič was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Omar Požeg showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 43 minute of play. Zlatko Šubelj hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Real Sostro CF's Ardenko Valenčič got control of the ball when Saško Udrih tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bogomil Krapež to make the kick off. If Avgust Krmelj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrej Stipanič hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, Real Sostro CF's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Požeg came free, but Ardenko Valenčič reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 played minutes Real Sostro CF got a freekick which was hit by Teo Špindler. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Omar Požeg in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ardenko Valenčič prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Avgust Krmelj took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ardenko Valenčič. Ardenko Valenčič dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 74th minute, Saško Udrih got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Omar Požeg came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Cerkno MNK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Požeg couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Real Sostro CF's Bogomil Krapež got a free kick in the 80th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Real Sostro CF's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Požeg came free, but Ardenko Valenčič reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Real Sostro CF's Timothy Mason got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Real Sostro CF getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tjaž Sobočan hit a great ball. Ardenko Valenčič took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krsta Hvala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cerkno MNK were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after Real Sostro CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Saško Udrih took the corner. After taking down the ball on Cerkno MNK's corner Saško Udrih fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ardenko Valenčič quite easily take care of the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Real Sostro CF's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Požeg came free, but Ardenko Valenčič reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cerkno MNK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
