The tension between the Metlika and the Mirna FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mirna FC booed when Metlika was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luban Bavčar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Metlika's Negovan Mihić played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Gratzer in the 29th minute of play. Novica Dragovan's late challenge caught a Metlika's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Novica Dragovan helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Mirna FC got a freekick which was hit by Novica Dragovan. After having played for 33 minutes, Emir Hmelak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metlika's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emir Hmelak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kenan Peternelj might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregorij Volmut. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kenan Peternelj ran back to his position shaking his head. Kenan Peternelj took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gregorij Volmut. Gregorij Volmut dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 46th minute Ivan Gratzer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Negovan Mihić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emir Hmelak to make the kick off. Gregorij Volmut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emir Hmelak in the 52nd minute of play. Kenan Peternelj could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Gregorij Volmut made a huge save. Kenan Peterneljs short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Gregorij Volmut to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mirna FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Emir Hmelak scored to the left of an out of position Gregorij Volmut, making the score, 1-3. Kenan Peternelj blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gregorij Volmut having to make a save. When Luban Bavčar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Metlika's Luban Bavčar got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Merlin Šokčević sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Kenan Peternelj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the game, Gaber Burnić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mirna FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Metlika the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mirna FC's Gaber Burnić got a free kick in the 89th minute.
