Nace Bradač charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nace Bradač the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes Godovič got a freekick which was hit by Nace Bradač. A collision led to Gremio FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Valentin Vasič hit a great ball. Dorjano Musek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veno Černač, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, Jurij Vihernik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ljudevit Kogoj was the one to do the kick off. If Veno Černač had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ljudevit Kogoj in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorjano Musek saved Godovič from getting behind. During the 63rd minute of the match Nace Bradač completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nace Bradač a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 63 played minutes Godovič got a freekick which was hit by Nace Bradač. The crowd rose to their feet as Gremio FC's Ljudevit Kogoj slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dorjano Musek. That made the score 0-3 after 65 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Veno Černač in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorjano Musek saved Godovič from getting behind. Dorjano Musek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Jerko Bavdek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorjano Musek having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Ljudevit Kogoj got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Dorjano Musek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ljudevit Kogoj in the 81st minute. Jerko Bavdek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Å abić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dani Cej received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Miloš Sirnik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
