The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matey Mihovec during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cerkno MNK's Matey Mihovec got a free kick in the 2nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samo Bavdek in the 5th minute of play forced Slovenska Bistrica's goalkeeper Aita Zaplana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samo Bavdek in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aita Zaplana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aita Zaplana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samo Bavdek, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. If Samo Bavdek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albin Stanišič kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Aita Zaplana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samo Bavdek in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Slovenska Bistrica getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Andrijan Greiser hit a great ball. Oliver Cijan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aita Zaplana. Slovenska Bistrica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Cerkno MNK booed when Slovenska Bistrica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrijan Greiser didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Albin Stanišič to strike the kick off in the second half. Zvonimir Kelenc struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. After 91 minutes, Aldin Prelog mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Slovenska Bistrica and the Cerkno MNK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute, Aldin Prelog hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute of the match Oliver Cijan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aita Zaplana skillfully saved the ball. When Mavro Primar came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Slovenska Bistrica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mavro Primar couldn't finish the play.
