After some careless play in the Cerkno MNK defense, Tian Ritlop kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ernes Suljkanović. The Cerkno MNK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ernes Suljkanović should have stopped the shot. In the 10th minute Arnel Stonič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernes Suljkanović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Arnel Stonič notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Cerkno MNK's Ernes Suljkanović. Ernes Suljkanović was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Šempeter GF's zone, Albin Stanišič stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almin Knific came out of the goal and Albin Stanišič tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vital Miško during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Šempeter GF booed when Cerkno MNK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vital Miško didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Arnel Stonič cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Ernes Suljkanović was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 25th minute, Danilo Perpar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernes Suljkanović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnel Stonič, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Šempeter GF's Almin Knific got control of the ball when Samo Bavdek tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute of the match Jano Paurič sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Almin Knific skillfully saved the ball. Albin Stanišič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almin Knific having to interfere. Ernes Suljkanović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tian Ritlop, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tian Ritlop was the one to do the kick off. Ernes Suljkanović made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Arnel Stonič sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Šempeter GF booed when Cerkno MNK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matey Mihovec didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute of the match, Tian Ritlop tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ernes Suljkanović saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Šempeter GF's Almin Knific played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albin Stanišič in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Šempeter GF's Tian Ritlop dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Almin Knific showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Stanišič, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tian Ritlop in the 78th minute of play forced Cerkno MNK's goalkeeper Ernes Suljkanović to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Almin Knific made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Stanišič in the 84th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albin Stanišič in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Almin Knific saved Šempeter GF from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnel Stonič got free with Ernes Suljkanović in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Šempeter GF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cerkno MNK throughout the match.
