In the 19thth minute of the game Will Gates who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NK Dinamo Zagreb's Darej Burnić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Will Gates's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darej Burnić was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. 27 minutes into the game, Joži Pavalec was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Dinamo Zagreb's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hodoš the free kick. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Will Gates sped through NK Dinamo Zagreb's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Darej Burnić. When Dennis Beškovnik came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Hodoš fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dennis Beškovnik couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Will Gates put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Darej Burnić. Darej Burnić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Will Gates in the 42nd minute of play. Will Gates sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Vilim Lamovšek made the kick off in the second half. Aljaž Končan might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dimitris Papadopulos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aljaž Končan ran back to his position shaking his head. Vilim Lamovšek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hodoš's Dennis Beškovnik got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Darej Burnić successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 74th minute NK Dinamo Zagreb were awarded a corner. Jan Raković went to the cornerflag to take it. After 75 minutes, Peter Saksida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hodoš and the NK Dinamo Zagreb players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 79th minute, Joži Pavalec got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 81st play minutes Will Gates shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Darej Burnić and just under the crossbar into goal. Džan Verdev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darej Burnić having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hodoš eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
