Spectators: 8529 (Terracing: 6300, Seating: 2129, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Stevan Metzkar took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ljudevit Borović hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. The supporters of Trebnje NK booed when Bayer Leverkusen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ljudevit Borović didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the game, Matijaž Šikman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trebnje NK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bayer Leverkusen the free kick. After 8 played minutes Trebnje NK got a freekick which was hit by Matijaž Šikman. After a rather tough play, Trebnje NK's Matijaž Šikman got a free kick in the 9th minute. An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Aziz Švegl got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 14th minute, Lazar Topolovec made a precise shot to the right of Ricardinho Matorin. Trebnje NK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Trebnje NK's Ricardinho Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naim Stanišič in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute Naim Stanišič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardinho Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Naim Stanišič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardinho Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Naim Stanišič, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Naim Stanišič made a kick off. If Saša Ajdič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Naim Stanišič's late challenge caught a Trebnje NK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Naim Stanišič helped the player get up and apologised. Maksimiljan Pavalec was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 57th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Trebnje NK's Saša Ajdič got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stevan Metzkar in the 63rd minute of play forced Bayer Leverkusen's goalkeeper Sreta Gorše to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Stevan Metzkar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Trebnje NK's supporters rose to their feet, but Stevan Metzkar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sreta Gorše breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matej Štrumbelj might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sreta Gorše. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matej Štrumbelj ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute, Ante Šalamija hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stevan Metzkar in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sreta Gorše prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Trebnje NK's Blagoje Popivoda got a free kick in the 71st minute. 75 minutes into the match, Rašid Uršič notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Trebnje NK's Ricardinho Matorin. Ricardinho Matorin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Trebnje NK's Ricardinho Matorin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Trebnje NK from getting a goal against them. Saša Ajdič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sreta Gorše having to interfere. Stevan Metzkar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sreta Gorše having to make a save. After 83 minutes, Stevan Metzkar made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Bayer Leverkusen's Sreta Gorše tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lazar Topolovec in the 90th minute of play forced Trebnje NK's goalkeeper Ricardinho Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bayer Leverkusen's zone, Stevan Metzkar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sreta Gorše came out of the goal and Stevan Metzkar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matijaž Šikman kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Bayer Leverkusen walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
