Darej Burnić was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vilim Lamovšek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zorko Andrić having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Rado Gruntar managed to get in a good position for a shot. NK Kočevje's supporters rose to their feet, but Rado Gruntar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Darej Burnić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, NK Dinamo Zagreb's Darej Burnić got control of the ball when Rado Gruntar tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of NK Kočevje booed when NK Dinamo Zagreb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joži Pavalec didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, NK Dinamo Zagreb's Lučano Kamenšek got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ecij Mihalek in the 38th minute of play forced NK Dinamo Zagreb's goalkeeper Darej Burnić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 played minutes NK Kočevje got a freekick which was hit by Rado Gruntar. In the 41st minute, one of NK Kočevje:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for NK Kočevje. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Vilim Lamovšek came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Zorko Andrić could save by the left post. The audience was convinced that Rado Gruntar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darej Burnić was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 55 minutes into the game, Ecij Mihalek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. In the 70th minute Rado Gruntar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darej Burnić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Joži Pavalec hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Darej Burnić didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rado Gruntar went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-2 was the resulting score. Rado Gruntar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ecij Mihalek in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darej Burnić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rado Gruntar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Darej Burnić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 90 in the game by Vilim Lamovšek from a close distance when the talented Zorko Andrić managed to make a qualified save. NK Kočevje's players were relieved. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Vilim Lamovšek took a quick shot and it went in 6-3 without a chance for Zorko Andrić to make any attempt to save it. The NK Kočevje players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
