NK Kočevje's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rašid Uršič was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Bayer Leverkusen booed when NK Kočevje was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rado Gruntar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zorko Andrić was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dorjan Budal showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Dorjan Budal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bayer Leverkusen's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorjan Budal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zorko Andrić breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sreta Gorše made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rado Gruntar in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Luc Ahlin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Kočevje's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bayer Leverkusen the free kick. Luc Ahlin hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Sreta Gorše showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rado Gruntar, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Lazar Topolovec made a precise shot to the right of Zorko Andrić. NK Kočevje's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Rašid Uršič fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bayer Leverkusen's protests and gave Rašid Uršič a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bayer Leverkusen's Rašid Uršič got a free kick in the 41st minute. Sreta Gorše made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rado Gruntar in the 43rd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Bayer Leverkusen's goal looked a bit too open when Ecij Mihalek came free, but Sreta Gorše reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Sreta Gorše made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Rado Gruntar sent off a good shot on target. In the 57thth minute of the game Lazar Topolovec who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but NK Kočevje's Zorko Andrić was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 59 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when NK Kočevje's Ecij Mihalek fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After 61 played minutes NK Kočevje got a freekick which was hit by Sanel Hovnik. After some careless play in the NK Kočevje defense, Dorjan Budal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zorko Andrić. The NK Kočevje fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zorko Andrić should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Dorjan Budal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zorko Andrić was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. If Dorjan Budal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, NK Kočevje's Čedomir Birk got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 70th minute, Brendon Čepar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zorko Andrić stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lazar Topolovec's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 78 minutes had been played when some careless play by NK Kočevje's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Naim Stanišič was slow to take the kick. During this time Bayer Leverkusen's players had a chance to rest. After 85 played minutes NK Kočevje got a freekick which was hit by Grega Majstorović. When Rašid Uršič came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Bayer Leverkusen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rašid Uršič couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Rašid Uršič managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bayer Leverkusen's supporters rose to their feet, but Rašid Uršič was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bayer Leverkusen fully deserved thier win.
