Sreta Gorše showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Podlesnik in the 3rd minute of the match. Bayer Leverkusen's Naim Stanišič got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Bayer Leverkusen booed when Hodoš was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aleksander Kutnjak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lazar Topolovec hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Sreta Gorše showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aldo Podlesnik, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Sreta Gorše didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aldo Podlesnik went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Sreta Gorše came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Hodoš's Džan Verdev. But to his dismay, Džan Verdev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Bayer Leverkusen's Sreta Gorše played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Beškovnik in the 23rd minute of play. Sreta Gorše showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dennis Beškovnik, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the Hodoš defense, Dorjan Budal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dimitris Papadopulos. The Hodoš fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dimitris Papadopulos should have stopped the shot. After 29 played minutes Hodoš got a freekick which was hit by Slavoljub Komel. Bayer Leverkusen's Naim Stanišič couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hodoš. Dennis Beškovnik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sreta Gorše having to interfere. Rašid Uršič's late challenge caught a Hodoš's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rašid Uršič helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Bayer Leverkusen got a freekick which was hit by Rašid Uršič. In the 37th minute Aldo Podlesnik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sreta Gorše saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rašid Uršič kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Naim Stanišič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Džan Verdev in the 47th minute of play forced Bayer Leverkusen's goalkeeper Sreta Gorše to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The wind increased when Dorjan Budal made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Naim Stanišič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hodoš's Dimitris Papadopulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorjan Budal in the 54th minute of play. Rašid Uršič hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Aldo Podlesnik came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sreta Gorše could save by the left post. Dimitris Papadopulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorjan Budal, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, Bayer Leverkusen's Rašid Uršič got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 69th minute, Dorjan Budal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dimitris Papadopulos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 73rdth minute of the game Naim Stanišič who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hodoš's Dimitris Papadopulos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sreta Gorše was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dennis Beškovnik showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 77 minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bayer Leverkusen's Eldin Kuzele got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute Aldo Podlesnik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sreta Gorše saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorjan Budal charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorjan Budal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute, Dorjan Budal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Džan Verdev could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Sreta Gorše made a huge save. Bayer Leverkusen's Naim Stanišič got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Naim Stanišič off the ground. After a rather tough play, Bayer Leverkusen's Naim Stanišič got a free kick in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hodoš had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
