The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Jönköping Södra IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sandhamn:s goal. The score was 1-0 after a penalty in the 6th minute, where Sandhamn:s Christoffer Benet tricked Jönköping Södra IF:s Tommy Malmberg with a difficult ball by the left post. Jönköping Södra IF's attentive Thomas Coull managed to snatch the ball when Edgar Asserlindh made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. After 17 minutes of play, Jönköping Södra IF's Kjell Åkesson made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valdemar Alstedt was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tommy Malmberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Arvid Dahlkvist showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 21 minute of play. A collision led to Sandhamn getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Roger Göransson hit a great ball. Sandhamn's Valdemar Alstedt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell Åkesson in the 27th minute of play. Kjell Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The penalty shot was made by Florentino Mincho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sandhamn's Valdemar Alstedt. 2-2. Kjell Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Valdemar Alstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Åkesson in the 38th minute of play forced Sandhamn's goalkeeper Valdemar Alstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Jönköping Södra IF's Ronny Holm sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdemar Alstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edgar Asserlindh could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Tommy Malmberg made a huge save. Valdemar Alstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell Åkesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 47th match minute, Jönköping Södra IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Åkesson to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

52 minutes into the match, Sandhamn's goalkeeper Valdemar Alstedt had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kjell Åkesson. Edgar Asserlindh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kjell Åkesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kjell Åkessons short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Valdemar Alstedt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Valdemar Alstedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kjell Åkesson in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Kjell Åkesson could shoot a difficult shot in the 64th minute, which Valdemar Alstedt however easily saved by the left post. 69 minutes into the game, Jönköping Södra IF's Kjell Åkesson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdemar Alstedt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kjell Åkesson got free with Valdemar Alstedt in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sandhamn's Valdemar Alstedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Sandhamn from getting a goal against them. 78 minutes into the match, Kjell Åkesson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdemar Alstedt. Sandhamn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kjell Åkesson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. In the 81st play minute Kjell Åkesson came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Valdemar Alstedt. 2-5. Kjell Åkesson took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdemar Alstedt. Valdemar Alstedt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. If Jim Pettersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Kjell Åkesson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jönköping Södra IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kjell Åkesson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
