Vikingstad IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Björnsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oskar Damm breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stig-Ove Söderberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kåre Kilstedt in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Vikingstad IF's Ulrik Brummer got a free kick in the 27th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Vikingstad IF's goal looked a bit too open when Kåre Kilstedt came free, but Stig-Ove Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Dahlens's Aaron Apelquist quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Allan Wiklund, made in the 44th minute of the game. Stig-Ove Söderberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvard Rosén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvard Rosén in the 48th minute of play forced Vikingstad IF's goalkeeper Stig-Ove Söderberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edvard Rosén made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Allan Wiklund during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Dahlens booed when Vikingstad IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Wiklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Dahlens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vikingstad IF the free kick. After 82 played minutes FC Dahlens got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Apelquist. Kåre Kilstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Stig-Ove Söderberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
