The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Eddie Sundberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. After having played for 11 minutes, Nils-Erik Melander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Finnerödja's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nils-Erik Melander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nils-Erik Melander recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 21 played minutes Måns Gadd rounded Finnerödja's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Joseph Näfver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Korneliusz Gondela having to interfere. When Joseph Näfver came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the DalKurd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joseph Näfver couldn't finish the play. William Bergström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nils-Erik Melander in the 32nd minute of the match. With 38 minutes on the clock, Egil Melin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Korneliusz Gondela had in the 40thth minute some difficulties stopping Pontus Bern's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Måns Gadd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Korneliusz Gondela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Gadd, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nils-Erik Melander to make the kick off. If Joseph Näfver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Korneliusz Gondela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Näfver in the 59th minute of the match. Nils-Erik Melander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without William Bergström having to interfere. 80 minutes into the match, Måns Gadd had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Korneliusz Gondela. Finnerödja's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Måns Gadd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Korneliusz Gondela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Måns Gadd, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Joseph Näfver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Finnerödja's zone, Måns Gadd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Korneliusz Gondela came out of the goal and Måns Gadd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Korneliusz Gondela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Måns Gadd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Finnerödja's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
