When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Sune Svensson put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Malcolm Öberg. Sune Svensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Malcolm Öberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sune Svensson in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Malcolm Öberg saved Södra United from getting behind. Valter Fridlund kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Sten Brander was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Jönköping 's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Södra United the free kick. After 29 played minutes Real Jönköping got a freekick which was hit by Sten Brander. After a rather tough play, Real Jönköping 's Alexander Öberg got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 41st minute, Sebastian Hybbert left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Jönköping fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. 46 minutes into the match, Södra United's goal looked a bit too open when Sune Svensson came free, but Malcolm Öberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sune Svensson was the one to do the kick off. Edward Böcklund hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Malcolm Öberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. The supporters of Real Jönköping booed when Södra United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Böcklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malcolm Öberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sune Svensson in the 70th minute of play. If Torbjörn Kullgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Nils Söderström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Valter Fridlund hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Malcolm Öberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sune Svensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Malcolm Öberg came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Real Jönköping 's Sune Svensson. But to his dismay, Sune Svensson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. After 90 minutes, Sebastian Stenkvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Jönköping and the Södra United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, one of Real Jönköping :s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Real Jönköping . Dan Åkerberg walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After a rather tough play, Södra United's Karl-Magnus Ekegren got a free kick in the 98th minute. Södra United's Malcolm Öberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Hybbert in the 99th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Real Jönköping had won after a very even match.
