The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nils-Emil Örnberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. In the 14th minute of the match Alf Pihlblad sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fredrik Bergström skillfully saved the ball. When Tommy Bammerman fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mariedals IK's protests and gave Tommy Bammerman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th match minute, Mariedals IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Bammerman to maneuver through the defense. 19 minutes into the match, Mariedals IK's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Emil Örnberg came free, but Rickard Aleberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alf Pihlblad stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fredrik Bergström. 0-1.

The wind increased when Nils-Emil Örnberg made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Fjällö BK's zone, Mattias Hellqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fredrik Bergström came out of the goal and Mattias Hellqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mattias Hellqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Bergström having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Mariedals IK's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Lundkvist came free, but Rickard Aleberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mikael Tolsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Mariedals IK's Wictor Stålman got a free kick in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils-Emil Örnberg in the 90th minute of play forced Mariedals IK's goalkeeper Rickard Aleberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 93 minutes into the game, Mathias Lundkvist cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2.
